Just back from dropping my Disco off for the 7500 mile servicing, and am driving a loaner Taurus. Nice to get a loaner, a drag to drive anything but a Rover. Just hadda whine....

Whoa!!! Karen, you have 7500 miles already? lol... Man, I wish I have the same mileage on my Disco... (99D1). I think I put in about 32K the first year and I now have 58K...

How the heck have you been by the way? Haven't "seen" you much on D-web lately...

Yeah Glenn, can you believe it???? Finally hit 7500, LOL! Hey, so it took me 11 months...I GOT there! Helps to have no commute to work :) The reason they have to keep the truck is because I have to have a new heated seat unit put in the passenger seat, and that involves a trip to the upholster's.

I've been pretty busy, and this week will be a bit more monstrous than usual. When I need a sanity break I hit DiscoWeb. Sometimes, I even find sanity, LOL. Hope you're doing well.

Karen :), but : ( in the Taurus....whine, whine, it just ain't the same......

i can feel your pain. i took my first D1 in to get some work at a non-dealer and they handed me the keys and i walked out to see a Dodge Aries or K car waiting for me. this was just 3 years ago.......not 10!! not only was it a K car, but a POS K car. smelled like gas and was just beat.
well to make a short story shorter i went back in full of piss and demanded a better car. i mean i was getting $900 worth of work done and they were giving me a loaner worth half that. well needless to say i got a Benz. i was happy.

THE END.

:)

Man...thats bad luck KJ & gp. I dropped off my DS2 today for its 30K and they gave me a new and *loaded* Freeloader. I must admit, as much as I bag on Freeloaders, this car is nice :)

I had some work done a few weeks ago (under Warrenty) on my 99D1 and they gave me an almost brand new 2002 Disco. Nice truck. It only had 2300 miles on it, and someone had already beat the #$%^ out of it. Needless to say, I did a little beating of my own. HEHEHE

I think it has to do with how early you arrive. As I have to drive over an hour to get to the dealership, and I wanted to let the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Virginia get through rush hour without me, I saw the last Freelander get loaned out just before me. That was O.K. though, because the man was loading a brand new baby into it, so better the infant has a Rover wrapped around him/her. Curtis or Zak, can either of y'all drive me around this week? :)

Life was good at Cape Fear in Wilimington NC, because they rented me a '02 DII from Enterprise. But LR WC rented me a POS Pontiac Sunfire. It was hard to get me 6'4" and 250 lbs in that thing!!!

A Taurus is pretty nice compared to the Pontiac Grand Am I had as a loaner. Consider yourself lucky :)

WIfe took in 98D1 for 45K services at 8:30 am. Gave her a Nissan Sentra from Enterprise rent a car. I hate to complain b/c it is a loaner which is better than most dealers do, but I was hoping to check out some of the more modern fleet of LR.

I think KJ's right; got to LR at 7:30 this morning, got a brand new D2, only 250 miles on it. Last time, got there around 9am, Enterprise gave me a little Geo; felt like that guy in the commercial driving the "2-door Speck".

KJ - I'd love to shoot over and drive you around, but I'm afraid to get this purdy thing all dirty from a road trip :)

The key to getting one at my dealer is to make the reservation way in advance. My dealer is phasing out all loaner DS2's for Freeloaders. Quite frankly, it is nice for a change.
