I picked up my new (used of course) 1999 Disco I today.

White/tan
55K - higher than I wanted but worth the price!!!
Running boards
Brush guard
Tail light guards
No sunroofs or CD

Couple questions.

Where can I pick up a used CD player? Is there an aftermarket one that works as well with the head unit? I thought I read Pioneer makes the stock one.

What are running boards, the front bumper, and the brush guard worth? I am not ready to do it yet but I am contemplating selling them all and getting an aftermarket front bumper with a built in brush guard (any recommendations?).

What does the wiring harness for the hitch run so I can pull a trailer?

Any words of wisdom for the new rookie?

Now... how do I become a member (with the password and photo gallery space) now that I am more than just a lurker?

Thanks,
Todd

every couple weeks a stock CD changer appears in the "for sale" section. You can also put in a new aftermarket head unit and just forget about the stock system.

you can throw all that stuff in the for sale section. Don't expect much response on the stock bumper, though. Might think about an ARB front bumper, or a TJM. Those TJMs look real nice...

the dealer can sell you a harness for a lot of money (couple hundred), or you can wire in a U-haul or Napa adapter for less than $20. It's a little complicated - try using the "keyword search" link under "utilities" over there on the left side of the screen. Search for "harness" and/or "trailer".

get it dirty :)

use the "edit profile" link over there under "utilities"

congrats. 99D1, nice!

Todd, I'll give you $200 for the brush bar if it's in good shape. I'm in the same boat, just bought a 99D1 in April and looking for my first mods. If I can't find a good used genuine brush bar, I'll probably by an ARB from EE.

I purchased my brush bar on ebay for $300, it was in exellent condition. The same for the running boards, $175. There are always CD players for sale on ebay. I also have a 1998 white/tan Disco,
love it. Are you going to get a roof rack? Lights?
If you are interested in a adventure roof rack, Chris von C has 3 or 4, I purchased one from him. I picked up a set of Hella 1000's on ebay for $200 and 4 Hella 500's for $100. Loon in ebay there is always stuff for land rovers

Todd I would try selling or buying your things from the land rover exchange www.lrx.com. They have a good selection and a good area to sell things as well.
