http://www.jpurnell.com/RR/repairs/StereoInstall.htm thisd guy put in an aftermarket radio and it looks like it has been raised up (letters on the heater controls are hidden) anyway, this pic http://www.jpurnell.com/RR/pix/stereo/install/dashorig4.jpg shows the radio plastic and two side pcs, that i dont have on my 1989, this guy has a 1992 is this standard? i am going to buy new (used) plastic because a dog chewed or scratched up mine badly. also it seems on my '89 it was vinyl covering masonite, rather than hard plastic , like this appears to be thanks rob |

Rob Also look at this link, if you have not already seen it, it has some good info on RR changes for each model year: http://www.fourfold.org/LR_FAQ/RR/FAQ.RR.RangeRoverC_US.html |

Rob, This is the Sony stereo in my 89RR, just like yours. Seems the previous owner got it to fit nice without raising it. Check here and here for some pics. Is this what you're thinking? pwc |

well, that looks good, but he probably bought one that is short. since i already have my unit i must make it fit. notice how your plastic around the radio isnt rivited , so to speak, like it is in the 1992 FYi, Range rover is really shallow on the radio depth, i have heard of people beating the trannie tunnel down a bit to get it to fit in there better. |
