I have a 1995 Range Rover Classic with the 3.9 engine and serpentine belt. My alternator is going bad and i am trying to find an alternate route to go rather than spending a lot for another original alternator. Is there an alternator that we can buy (AC Delco, etc.) that will work in a 1995 RRC. If so let me know how much trouble it is getting it in the truck. Thanx Ryan Wilcox [email protected] |

You could try these guys: http://autoexpress.safeshopper.com/489/cat489.htm?356 I've purchased from them and they were great!! I've never done an alt on a 95 so I can't give you any advice. Good luck. |

Yes, you can prolly use a Delco CS1xx series alternator. You'll need to use the same exact pulley size to keep the tach accurate. The alternator shop can hook you up with the wiring aspect of it. They should also be able to find a Delco frame that has similar footing orientation as your unit to make the install a little easier. The whole cost should be less than $300. My conversion to a Delco CS130 cost less than $200 and it puts out 120 amp when fully loaded. For more info, do a search on a home page for John Purnell out of Madison, WI. He lists couple of conversions. |

Or just have yours rebuilt. That should be the cheapest alternative yet. Boris |
