I picked up a '99 D1 last week and need to get rid of the mall crawler/soccer mom look. I have a couple pricing questions.

How much would an ARB or similar bumper run me? I'd want to get one that would continue to work with the air bags.

How about steel wheels? Really love the look/durability of black steel wheels on a white Disco.

Other than removing the running boards and mud flaps are there any other cheap mods I can do to gain clearance? I know someone mentioned trimming the front valance. Does someone have pictures before/after that I can see so I know what I am donig?

Thanks,
Todd

Todd
check out Expedition Exchange web site out they carry both ARB and TJM.
wheels Great Basin Rover or Gulf Coast Rover. OR try the for sale I see that Trevor is selling 4 for $260.
As for clearance bigger tires will give you what you need, if you are looking for clearance under the diff. Pending on the tires chances are you will need to go with a suspention lift. Many ways to do that CB lift (Cheap Bastard) OME,Rovertym,Bearmach Or LR HD springs or you can go with a body lift Rovertym

Those running boards are going at a premium http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1846118108 who knew that they would start selling above dealer cost ;)
