Hello,

Can anyone please tell me where I can find some protection for my 96 4.0 SE. I can't find any protection gear (rock sliders, skid plates, bumpers) for a 96 4.0se. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try searching for a company called Safety Devices, which is in the UK. They make the LR factory guards for Range Rovers and Discos.

Actually, Southdown builds the factory skidplates for the 4.0/4.6 and D2. Safety devices built the factory skidplates etc.. for the D1 d90 etc..
The plates that Southdown builds for Landrover are all aluminum. Southdown also sells steel skids for the same applications direct from them. Southdownusa.com for the steel stuff, or your landrover dealer for the aluminum.

THE LANDROVER PLATES ARE NICE UNITS THOUGH. HAVE SEEN THEM AFTER LEAVING THE EQUINOX DRIVING SCHOOL AT OUR DEALER AND THEY HOLD UP REAL WELL

Safety Devices is the only place that I have found underbody protection, but it comes at a sizeable premium. I am waiting for more after market mfr's to start making the protection now that the new Rover is out and more people will start to take the 4.0/4.6's off road. Until then, I will just take my chances and use caution.
