OK, I made a blunder. I backed over the hood of my wife's '01 Galant. Now I need to find a slavaged hood in her color. After speaking with my local salvage yard, they informed me that there are no hoods (regardless of color) on the east coast.

Is there an online site that I can browse for body parts? My deductible is $500, so if I can find the correct color hood, I 'll save some $$ and won't have to go through my insurance company.

Damn, I HATE when I do things like that!

Tell your wife it's her fault for not getting a taller car that you could see behind you. Only kidding... Sorry can't help you on your quest for a hood but, I can give you grief about running over the thing.. So did you at least get any pictures? You where really just trying to test that rear flex weren't you? :)

This might help. http://www.autobodypartsonline.com They usally have pictures too. 01 might be pretty hard to find. I would guess that you would have good luck w/ a West Coast supplier (lotsa Mitsu's running around). There is a hood for $144 on there, though I don't know what color you are looking for.

Jeremy, thanks for the site. I think those are new panels, so painting would be necessary. Great prices, though.

Eric, no pictures, but I could take one. Basically, I just backed into her. But since it sits so low and Winston is so high, I just went up her hood. Fuel tank skid just pushed down the hood and the bracket that the shid mounts to opened the hood up like a can. Not pretty.

But to give my wife credit, her response was "It's OK, it's a lease". Gotta love a gal like that!

Pretty cool.. Hope they don't notice when you return it. I had a honda accord rear end on a higway entrance ramp. I felt some thing push me and I looked in my rear view and didn't see anything. I check my side mirror and sure enough there is a car behind me real close to my rear tire. He hit my trailer hitch and gas tank skid right about the top of his radiator. Gouged and bent his hood in half.. Didn't do anything to me.

Never mind. Kept getting message that image was too big. It said that image had to be less than 1 kilobyte. By the time I resized it, you couldn't hardly see it. Got it down to 963 bytes and it still said it was too large.

If you want, email it to me, and I'll see if I can get it to go... might not, but, I can at least try to tinker with it.....

FWIW....

Log In? How? I've never logged in before. Seriously. I've logged into the other sites I frequent, but not this one.

Heath, thanks. Unfortunately, nothing came up. Trying to find an '01 hood in Banyan Bay Beige to prevent having to paint hood. Looks like I'll just get a new hood and have it painted.
