Man, I am soo tired of this group talking shit about the way people choose to use their Ds. If someone likes the Damn car they can buy it and do whatever the F*CK they want with it. Whether it be drive it too the mall or drive it off a cliff. I'm biginning to think that the real posers on this group are the ones that constantly have to brag about how much mud is on thier rig and that their neighbors are yuppy scum because their D is clean. blah blah blah...Who Cares??? Ever think that some people actually Like to drive it On-Road? I enjoy driving my D both On and Off-Road, so what, I'm not about to bash the next guy for enjoying his car the way he wants. Rick |

I personaly wouldn't have bought my Disco if I was just going to drive it on the street. I bought it with wheeling in mind. I would have gotten some thing else if it was just going to see asphalt all the time. The Disco just plain sucks ass on the street compared to most of the other SUVs out there. |

Kyle and Ho, First the disclaimer: The following contains some sarcasm. Those who are easily offended or confused have been forewarned. You guys are killing me. It would be different if you two weren't partners in discoweb but knowing that you are makes it even worse. You're like Laurel and Hardy. The straight man (Kyle) and the funny man (Ho). I mean that in the best sense. Kyle will call "bullshit" on someone, qoute the facts, and take you to town the ugly way if he thinks your wrong. Then out of nowhere Ho comes in, usually with one or two lines ("just do it"), and completely de-rails the FUCKING train. Both approaches work wonders but you guys are killing me. On-road, off-road, what does it matter? If people are calling Greg Davis' Disco "cute", we're all doomed anyway. Ok, aimless rambling complete. A different Rick. Note the correct spelling of FUCKING. |

At least he was creative while inventing the name of his imaginary friend, usually they are just guys with names like Joe, John, Steve, ect. I think coming up with the name "Marky" shows some real attention to detail on Rick's part. |

Unfortunately, I have to admit that I probably fit the yuppie stereotype to a tee. Most of us probably do. The difference is that most of us on this board also fit the "grease-monkey-who-loves-dirt" stereotype as well. This makes us enigmas wrapped up in a question and shouded by mystery Curtis |

Curtis, Don't forget the "adolf mustache and funny hat". This makes us enigmas wrapped up in a question and shouded by mystery wearing a funny hat and adolf mustache. Cripes, if I lived next to me (or any of the enigma and mustache people), I'd move. If I ever saw someone who owned a disco doing that dance thing, I would get a gun. Regardless of whether their truck was clean or dirty. Greg, You have been providing my family with comic relief for several weeks now, I just thought that I would carry it forward. First the "dirty thoughts" plates, then you back over your wife's car (not into it, but over it), and now your truck is "cute". I'm dying from this stuff. And yes, the Laurel and Hardy clip continues to make me laugh out loud. Damn that's funny! It keeps sneaking into my head during meetings and I have to force it out. Rick |

Speaking of "yuppie"...... What if, instead of being in an urban setting, you live in a suburban, or a rural area? Then are you a ysppie? a yrppie? I mean, I'm not old yet, I'm a professional (well, we'll say that I am, lol), but i sure as heck don't live in an "urban" area.... Just curious..... -L |

speaking of stupid people suck, one another public board I visit, a fellow LR owner called me "You are a weak hippie degenerate" as he happened to notice a few GD stickers on my LRs and then he felt calling me a "deadhead" was in order. And "a lift kit is white trash" on my RR. He also had a comment about my hybrid 109 - "you are driving a kit car". it was fairly comical. Jaime |

Hey, how about the social outcasts, hmmm? I mean really, don't we deserve some equal time? I can't stand beer/lager, I go off-road to fight fires, and I am personally trying to convert NASCAR addicts to real racing (F1) here in South Carolina. Point by point: 1) Single malt rocks, beer is a short time substitute, thats all! 2) Rural firefighting is not for the weak of will or faint of heart. The normal scene is building engulfed and firefighters entering for an attempt to rescue those trapped inside. Normally, the reason the neigbor called when they realized that their friend wasn't plowing the field. 3) You would think that in the area of the country where moonshine running was the start of the idea for racing, that it would never regress to oval track racing. Oval tracks are strictly to allow crowds watch the entire race without getting out of the seats. Large circuit tracks are the real test of the driver and the car. Thank you. Bill M. P.S. I am not stoopid. |

Yeah, NASCAR freakin sucks. We actually have a country station down here that calls NASCAR races over the radio, it really isn't a sport meant to simply be listened to but hey I would argue it isn't a sport meant to be watched and for that matter isn't really a sport period. |

So the question is, is their programming worse when they're calling the NASCAR races or when they revert back to playing country music after the race? ;-) |

NASCAR, ugh & phooey! Some time ago a bride from MA was trying to give her thank you speech while her VA groom's rude NASCAR friends laughed and jeered. She easily outwitted them by occasionally interjecting "NASCAR" ... The heads of those goofs snapped to attention and their narrow-set eyes actually looked somewhere other than at their own feet. She finally explained why the interjected "NASCAR" was necessary.... the ADHD handicapped groom and friends needed special attention.... and she was getting a very well deserved superiority "fix" by moving South. Would the term "bloodthirsty" be too mild to describe big oval "thunder" pits. Now, just smile and drive on................ if you can get out of the traffic circle ( rotary ). I'm told that some NASCAR ovals actually turn to the right... WOW ! what a challenge. I know, I know, they actually have a couple (2) of "road" events such as today's Watkins Glen (PA) demolition derby. But its still a crash and trash fest... otherwise the NASCAR fans wouldn't show up. Its humor folks, humor ! Get it ? |
