I've a couple of Buddies that are big into Jeeps and they keep ripping me on my Rover. I've a stock disco 1 and they have Jeeps with major mods done to them. Anyway they keep sending me pics of Jeeps etc rescuing stranded Rovers. Does anyone know where I can get some pics of Rovers rescuing Jeeps? Or is it a case of why bother rescuing a stranded Jeep?

"Dear jeep buddy, thanks very much for rescuing a land rover in need. you da man!"

We took a pic of a Jeep getting yanked out of the John Bull trail last month. The Jeep even had a sticker that said "Land Rover recovery vehicle" I'll see if I can get a copy and post it.-Jay

Here's one where the Jeep couldn't even handle the asphalt!!

Go on a looooong trip with your friends. Off road till late and then drive home after a long day. Ask them whose truck looks good when you make a pitstop. A warm, quiet, leather seated ride will be looking pretty good to them.

You could really slap em in the berries if you show them this http://www.pnwx.net/11_4_00/winch1.jpg My previous Xterra (taken 2 years ago) extracting a very stuck Jeep. In fact, that was the first time my winch was used!

Doug, as much as I'd like to, I can't help you.

this disco and this jeep were both extricated by a K5... I have a bunch of photos of land rovers rescued by jeeps...

OTOH... BlueGill should have at least two!
I even found one - http://www.t-r-j.com/Anza-Borrego/ICS/IMG24.jpg

Yeah, recovered by an Xterra is even worse. Actually I wouldn't care too much if I was stuck bad and one came along, a pull is a pull. But I would still really like to see that one of a disco pulling out the jeep with the "Land Rover Recovery Vehicle" sticker on it. Its a funny sticker but you would have to feel like a total jack ass everytime a Rover pulls your butt out of something. I sure hope whoever pulled the guy out made him well aware of the irony.

Which is more embarrassing: being recovered by a Jeep, Xterra, or a Sammy:

Hell, I agree with Carter. A pull is a pull. The only difference is that the guy doing the recovering is never the one in the sticky situation.

Now if you are the guy making the climbs and helping every other vehicle in your group up the trail...that is another story :) That rig is the official badass and he can be driving any make as long as it is heavily modified.

I'm outta here. Hello Crested Butte for the next week :)

I have one worse then the sammy and I have pics and witnesses...lol. I once had to use Heather's Amigo as a winch anchor. So , I guess you could say I was recovered by an Amigo. A 2WD one as well... :)

I helped my neighbor recover a small tractor from the creek across our back yards. He turned it upside down and then buried his 2WD pickup to its axles trying to pull the tractor from the creek. I pulled both out with slow, steady tension.

Sorry, photo is too large to post here. Quality is not very good anyway. You'll just have to take my word for it. Someday, I'll update my photo gallery and then you'll see. Hah!!

The irony that the jeep has a snorkle and the rover doesn't.

Well, Today I got tugged by a Nissan Pathfinder. If that makes y'all feel better :):). I had a problem and my engine wouldn't start. So he towed me to a flat spot a few feet away and I found the coil wire was off. A quick fix and then on again.

Max T.

Glad he didn't have his camera :):)
