Thought I'd throw up some pictures of my new toy.

Here it is in full soccer mom attire with the running boards, front faring, and mud flaps.

Soccer Mom

Here it is as it sits today. No mods yet other than cutting the valance and the Discoweb decal. NATO steel wheels on order (couldn't pass up a fantastic deal). I hope to get some of Dee's diff guards when I have the $$$.

Trimmed Valance

Todd

Will you acknowledge me at Home Depot now PWC? ;)

The Discoweb sitcker is the only thing that'd do it at this point. :)
And remember, I don't wave, I swerve.

PS Is that infront of Safeway on 128th?
PSS Where did you get it registered? I got a NRF plate but if you got PFF I can just about get my initials. :)

pwc - nope, QFC on Bothell-Everett by 405. I was going to Starbucks (kidding). It was registered in Mount Vernon. The lot I picked it up from is there. Damn, if you know that Safeway is you are real close to where I live (The Highlands off 128th/132nd).

Didn't even notice the light pole behind me. Just happens to be aligned with where the sunroof would be if I had them.

That was my second guess. I used to work just across 405 at Canyon Park.

I'm just off 143rd by Martha Lake Airfield, or what used to be it.

I'm thinking the 25th might be a good day to do some simple wheeling, if my wife hasn't planned something for the same day. You free? And you Jeremy? or anyone else for that matter?
I'm most interested in a "get to know you new vehicle without bashing it" kinda trip. Once I convince my wife we need to keep the RR, then I'll bash the Disco. :)

Whew, thanks for the save Moe.

Next summer is either a road trip down the coast to Disneyland or possibly a trek to PA to visit the in-laws and prove to them you can actually drive to Washington for a visit instead of us becoming poor going out there twice a year. It's hard to get some PA people to drive outside their county.
So you might see it one way or another. Without the Pokemon sticker of course.
If you come out to visit, I pormise to attempt to get you killed in the sport of your choosing. Washington's a mighty fun place.

Todd, The Social Calendar looks clear for the 25th. let me know if you are up for something, then grab some recovery points front and rear.

"how sad is that"

LOL, I would place that at the very sad level :( What is sadder is that when you come to visit WA, your old disco will be in Disneyland :)

well let's hope by the time you get here a 'keying' will still be noticeable after Peter has run amok on the local trails.

I've seen your old Disco. I'm not sure anyone would notice the key marks with all the pinstriping you put on it hitting trails over the years.

I'll check the calendar. Unfortunately I think I have the outlaws side of the family over that weekend but I may be wrong. I really need to get this thing dirty and like you would like to start out with some simple stuff until I know the vehicle. Unfortunately I have the stock Michelin tires on it. I can't imagine they are that great off road. Am I wrong? 80+% tread left on all four touching the ground, damn! Hmm... maybe we arrange for Peter to come over and slash all four. Easier to get new ones with the wife that way ;)

Did you look into the deal with the Wolf/NATO steel wheels through the guy in the club? Heck of a bargain if you ask me. I know I should wait to buy them but I can't pass up the price.

I live at the end of a deadend street. All my neighbors have guns. All my neighbors like me. You just bring that little set of keys.

On the other hand, I thought you keyed it before it left PA. :) Parked next to Katka's unscathed indentical 97, my wife liked the scratched look better. I think I love that woman.

i instructed peter to get the truck detailed and a tune up, thats all it needed. that will get rid of any pin strypering

but as i said earlier, i beat the hell out of the truck for years... so maybe there are some deap ones.

i'll have to key the windsheild, fuckers

While your at it can you swing by my place and slash my tires? Maybe steal my (imaginary) adventure rack too?

Todd

Oh, yea... and if I leave my TRACK RAT outside maybe you could key that too and I could get it painted...

I don't have the spare cash right now for new wheels when I really don't need them (but reallllly want them). One day. If you spend much time with Jeremy you will find he is good at spending other people's money. But then again, so am I.

I'd say go with the stock tires. Better than not going at all. I need to play with the winch any way.

...and the cats swapped out. :) I know Rob, you didn't know one was on its way out.

Funny dealership story about that though: I took it in Monday and they said "If it is the cats it's free, unless they show obvious damage then LR HQ won't honor the warranty." So they take a look and sure enough it's one of the cats. They called me today late in the day and said something to the affect of: "It's going to be tomorrow because of the after-market protection under there having rusted bolts and nuts and they are soaking them to get them off. Normally we would charge you for taking the stuff off and putting it back on but this time we're going to 'interanlize it'"
So if I don't have skid plates and the cat takes a whack I'm screwed. But if I put on skid plates you're going to charge me to take them off???? Because I'm protecting other expensive parts you want to make a profit on???

Had troubles with it Kyle?

If it rusts that easy, I may just get some SS bolts to make it easier next time. It'll be nice and hosed down when it comes back.

Oh wait a sec.....they detail your truck somewhat when you take it to the dealer, right?? NOOOOOOOO!!! My hard earned Montana dirt.....whimper....

Now that I know the general area where you live I think I'll dress in black and head over to your neck of the woods in the middle of the night with a bottle or armor-all With your truck all washed up from the dealer it will need the finishing touch (although they may trim the tires while it's there)

i hated that skid plate. thats part of the reason i lifted the truck a little higher than most (it was up to 3" at one time then sagged/settled to where it's at now)

i paid so much for the plate that i had to keep it, plus something told me the second i take it off somthing will hit in there, making me regeret it. plus it's strong ass hell, i've had the whole truck up on it several times :)

i had it off before utah to get to the trannie plug, so it was recently taken off, shouldn't have been THAT bad. i'd tell them you will pay for new nuts and bolts it should be only a few $ and save you greif later. for the record, i DID use an anti seize grease pencil on all the threads.

i DID NOT know the cat was going! if i had i would have done the warranty thing like you are doing and tryed to get more for the truck, advertizing "new cats"

Good news. I got the Disco back today with the spanking new cat AND SS bolts. :) Didn't even have to ask. The mech. probably didn't want to deal iwth putting them back on, or never wanted to see them again.
But I had to walk to the dealership because they didn't send the shuttle dude. :(
And it does drive better with ArmorAll on the tires.

It's not looking good for me on the 25th. I've got family around .

Damn. I'll try to look on the bright side and think about how I need to add some recovery points anyway.
