Just wondering what your guys thoughts are about AUS and Germany trying to ban bull bars as they can hurt people if they get hit. Not like the 5000 pound truck is going to hurt them only the brush bar will.. :) Anyways, you think they will try to do that here?

Yup , and I think it will first be the manufacturers get dragged into accident cases and sued..Really and truely though. Most of the bumpers here are for "Off Road Use only"... :)

The part that I think is funny is that they are saying that these bars are hurting people. Um, I think that if you are getting hit by a 5000 pound truck your getting hurt bars or no bars. I'm sure more people are hit and killed by cars/trucks without bars then trucks with them. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out a way around the 22 inch bumper height law in VA. Since my factory bumper is about 24-25 inches off the ground right now. Anybody know how to get "truck" tags on a Disco?

Eric, I thought the bumper height law was 36" here. Can't you just ask for the truck tags at the DMV?

I think that there is more to it then just asking for it. Even then it is based on gross vehicle weight.. I know some one that got a ticket yesterday by a state cop for his Jeep bumper being 25 inches off the ground when the law states no more then 22 for a Passenger Vehicle.. Pickup or Pannel truck can be higher if it meets certain gross weight requirments. I have a code of SU on my registration but, I can't find out if that is just another code for Passanger car or not. A Pickup or Pannel truck with a gross weight of 4500 or less should be allowed a bumper 28 inches off the ground 29 if you are 4501 to 7500. So anyone know where I can find out what my Disco is coded as besides going to the DMV and asking? If "SU" is listed as Passenger Vehicle then I could be looking at some tickets too.

Here is the link to the Law http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?000+cod+46.2-1063

Oh and the trooper pulled him over while doing a routine check for stickers. He had all the stickers and they pulled him just to check the height of his Jeeps bumper.

Kyle and I would stamp that in big letters on any bumper you make. All it takes is some scum sucking bottom dwelling lawyer to find a profit in some one else misfortune and ruin your life...
