93 range rover 4.2L with 100,000 miles on the clock and the check engine light has come on, car runs real good, no apparent problems, any way to retrieve the fault code to try and figure this out Thanks in advance |

Might be the emissions warning because it is close to the every 52K reminder. I'll probably get blasted for this by some, but did you try resetting your emissions reminder module? not sure where it is on a 93 - on a 91 it is under the passenger seat - small red box. Bill |

The readout for the codes is under the passenger seat. You can only get to it by removing the lower trim on the door side of the pass seat. Turn ignition switch on to see the code. Randall |

Let me help you. Is it the "check engine light" or the "service engine light"? If it's the check enginge light, simply unplug the negative lead on your battery for about two minutes and reconnect and the check engine light will clear. Usually this is an indicator that you need to change your 02 sensors, or you may need to change your fuel filter, etc. If it's the service engine light, check under the passanger seat and locate the orange box, and simply stick a straight pin through the center to clear the light. Check the tech section here for futher info on how to clear the service enginge light- e-mail me if you need futher assistance. [email protected] |
