I went wheeling yesterday and got stuck in the deepest mud i have ever seen and when I finally got out this brown liquid came pouring out. It wasn't mud water, it was really warm and thinner than oil. When i remove the front grill and turn on the A/C the liquid comes spraying out from a coupling infront of the radiator. I figure it's the cooling for the A/C and the liquid is A/C coolant but i'm not sure. Reveiwing what happened, the rangie leaned way over to the driver side (the mud was against the window) and the passenger side tires were off the ground, so it was resting transmission and tierods etc. (wish i had a picture) What i don't get is why the cilyndrical looking radiator in front of the real radiator got damaged, it wasn't touched by anything. I"m guessing it has to do with the A/C, but i just want to make sure. What else could it be? Last thing, anyone know a quick fix for a bent tie rod, cause i messed that up too. Thanks..

Sounds like really trashed ATF to me. There are two cooler lines to the aux trans cooler. One comes from the bottom side of the trans and one comes from the top port on the radiator. Both are combination metal/rubber lines and can get damage - especially the one that comes from the trans and passes under the front crossmember.

If it was Freon it would spray out at high pressure whether the truck was running or not. Trans fluid would only spray with the running.

The cylindrical cooler is for the trans fluid. Mine rusted through and needed to be replaced. Too expensive so changed routing of hoses and got rid of it. All other vehicle have trans cooler in radiator so I left it at that which is adequate unless your towing another rover or?? all the time. I have 190000 miles on original trans. Removed cooler about 4 years ago. FLUSH THAT FLUID with an exchange machine if you want it to last!!
