I'm new to the diso scene. What is recommended for the beginner for off road recovery equipment on a stock disco II.

You might want to post this on the Disco tech section to get some more replys. I would recommend a good tow strap and some good recovery points, to start off.

i always carry a come-a-long with me, since i am winchless. straps, shovel, recovery points, phone is good and tools. and a CB is always nice to have to talk trash on. :)

Essentials of survival for at least two years... If you really adventure out there, you could become Tom Hanks in "Cast Away" with all the electronics on those things. Oh yeah, maybe bring a volleyball to talk to? :)

Now see, that's great. The come along thing......that's good. I've got one of those. I can see where that could come in handy. Shovel, tow straps, recovery points, phone, CB......those are no brainers. I don't have a winch (I hope to get one soon) but the come along thing would be better than nothing if you find yourself in a pinch. That's a great idea. Thanks.

Most of it is in a box in the back. Other parts are fixed within the inner skin of the Disco, or like the clothes, in a travel bag.

When I'm off hunting, there is a couple of people, rifles, and maybe a dog or two to add to that!

I need a roof rack. Even if it's just for the dogs, I need a roof rack. :)

Oh, and a set of replacement fuses.

Brian,

"If you really adventure out there, you could become Tom Hanks in "Cast Away" with all the electronics on those things."

ROFLMAO!!! :) Exactly right.

Kelly, sounds like you've got a handle on it, and you're on the right track :) Those recovery points are a good focus, along with all the proper gear. Good suggestions coming in.

Horness, you sound like me, except for in my case, I'll find that I brought along everything but the kitchen sink, and forgot the one basic item I'd really need ... like the Safety Seal (Tire) Kit or something. (like I'm an expert at using it, LOL ... Good point, Craig, => bring another rig, AND, in my case, some mechanically helpful friends, LOL)

Kim
