I saw a listing on lrx.com/listings that claimed to have the series rover from the beginning of Black Hawk Down for sale. He apparently got it through a company that liquidated all the film's inventory in Morocco when they were finished filming. His page is http://www.landroverworldflorida.com/TONYS___MAIN/Page_40x.htm and it's down a few.

Here is the picture and price. $11,950 sounds mighty cheap for a "celebrity" rover of this qualtiy.

Here's the direct link to the page with description. What do the experts here think of this?

I wouldn't pay extra for it, just because it was in a movie... it's not like it was the star of the movie... (I would pay a bit more for the Antichrist from the Gods Must Be Crazy, though).

It seems to be an average Series Rover. Really needs that vent-flap replaced. It'd be okay for a driver, or a basis for a restoration, if you have big plans, I guess.

IMO, the price is a bit high. But, I hate to really say, w/o seeing it... I'd like to see the chassis and the bulkhead closer, drive it so I hear and feel it, etc... Might be worth that much, but I doubt it. Dunno... maybe...

IMHO, YMMV.....

Back when our oldest child was a newborn, my wife was bound-n-determined that we were going to split 'night-duties' 50/50%... half the time she would get up and feed the baby, change diapers, then I would take care of the other half of the time.

Well.....

It wasn't on purpose, but... I sleep like the dead. Once I'm asleep, you can't wake me up early. She'd try and try to wake me up when it was my turn, but it didn't take long 'til she realized that it was a LOT more trouble to wake me up than it was to take care of the baby herself. Everytime that she did manage to wake me up, she was SO wide awake by then that she couldn't get back to sleep until after I had already taken care of the baby and then had fallen asleep myself.

So, again, Laura's the one who's checking on Abby during the night, and I never hear a bit of it. But, I'll stay up late, though, and let Laura go on to bed early. Then I'll tuck Abby in, and hopefully it'll be a good stretch of peace for Laura. Abby's doing well, actually, sleeping from either midnight to 6am, or 11pm to 5am, with only one bottle during that time if at all...

+++++++++

As far as the Rover goes.... well, I wouldn't pay that much for it.

I think $8000 would be a more fair price, but 109" SW Rovers can get a little more, so maybe $10,000 wouldn't be a big stretch. There's other ones that I would go for ahead of that one, but... if you just had to have a 109" SW Series Rover, and being in a movie mattered to ya, then shoot, if it makes ya happy, and you've got the cash, then by all means

GO FOR IT!!!

:)

lol.....
