Right now I have 32" bfg mud terrains on my 91 rr and I'm looking at going to the same tires in 34". Already have 2" lift from OME HD springs and I was looking at the rte 2" body lift. I'd probably also switch to 410 gears but would the axles and transfercase take those bigger tires okay? Does anything need to be changed in the steering, I know castor correction bushings or having them reworked at rte would help.

If you are running stock axles and diffs I would at least get upgraded axles and you may also want to get lockers since they are stronger then the stock ones. RTE sells lockers at great prices and I would get the axles from Great Basin Rovers. With 34s you run a real big chance on snapping an axles or breaking a diff. You might as well put in the lockers at the same time as you do the gears and you will want to do the gears if you do any type of traveling.

I agree with Eric. I would not have installed the 34" tires without upgrading components. Of course, I haven't upgraded the front yet, but I'm not wheeling my truck right now either.

I haven't found the 4.10s necessary, but I am very close to sea level. My acceleration seems to be unaffected for all purposes, although I am quite light on the gas pedal. Braking distances will increase so be ready for that.

I've done nothing to the steering and it's fine.

Good luck,

-P
