my brother is considering a '99 RR HSE. does anyone have any thoughts on this truck? it is going to just be a family vehicle. how reliable, what issues, better years than others, etc? thanks!! |

By 1999 they corrected a lot of the previous model year gliches, but not all of them.Depending when the vehicle was produced, it will have a Bosch or a Gems system. I have an early production 1999 with a Gems and would have preferred a Bosch. Understand that your brother will be taking the vehicle in for various "gremlins", but that is to be expected with such an electircal system that requires 44 fuses. A 1999 will probably be due for some major maintenance, however, once its done, you will have a vehicle that should last for many years. If and when your brother decides to take this vehicle off road, you will then fully appreciate its ability as a stock vehicle and will know he made the right decision. |

POS. Make sure he changes the pollen filters often (at least every 15k). Neglect a P38a RR and it gets VERY expensive. Ron |
