i replaced mine yesterday with one of the napa parts mentioned on one of the rrc sites. didn't seem to make much difference. motor still pulsates when idelling, you can still see the tach bounce around a little (the mechanic calles it "hunting"). anyone know what causes this "hunting" and how to fix it? |

The Truth: Those NAPA stepper motors are NOT the same as the LR part. The body of the part appears to be same, but the internal workings are different. They are also made in the USA, LR parts are made in Mexico. Napa part will alow the ECU to control the idle, but it will be continually "hunting" for 700rpms. You can replace with a new LR stepper motor and get a near perfect idle. I have also tried the other brands as well, with the same results. Use genuine stepper motor if you want idle to work correctly. Randall |

Idle hunting can also be caused by air leaks - in my case the !@#$%^&*&( inlet manifold gasket keeps failing, letting oil out and air in. Mostly only happens when ac compressor cycles out. jp |
