Leslie, you mentioned in "the other thread" that you are on the TN/VA border, is that anywhere near Lexington, VA??? I've got a brother at W&L and I might make it out there to see him sometime in the spring or something if there are any good trails/rover guys in the area. Do you know anything??? Would you believe that I have yet to wheel with another rover??? It sucks but there just arn't many around here.

Lexington is further up, really close to West Virginia.... Ron and Alyssa Brown went to school there. A lot of the Charlottesville/Roanoke/Lynchburg Rover folks are a lot closer to there.... I have friends from the area, Covington and Buchanan, but don't get that far up too often. I'm about 200 miles to the southwest from there....

I live just west of Kingsport, ie, I live ON the state-line for TN and VA. I try to hang out at the Thatched Roof Garage as often as I can....

Are you going to be at MAR? It'll be just a bit south of Charlottesville this weekend....

Where are you located?

Probably, not that I really care though. I just go to a small private college in central Arkansas. Now if you want to talk about LSU on the other hand we can do that, I spent the first 18 years of my life in Baton Rouge so that is where my heart is at when it comes to college football.

Hey, is the game in Fayetteville or Auburn??? If its up here and you are planning on going to it I can give you a place to crash about 30 min north of Little Rock (right off the interstate and on your way) and some trails to ride as well.

Hey, Carter,

The Flatland Rover Society, based in Kansas City, will be at ORV park near Hot Springs the weekend of October 11-12-13. Check out our website for details or email me if you would be interested in joining with us for some driving.

Yeah, that sound cool. Unfortunately I'm not 100% sure if that weekend is gonna work, let me try to weasel my way out of doing some stuff with the girlfriend and I will get back with you if I think I can go. Damn I wish I knew about this a few weeks earlier. I have bookmarked your homepage and will keep checking for other events close to me even if I can't go to this one.

Thanks a lot for the invite,
-Carter

Drink. Lots of drinking. Plently of parties. Fawk with the pledges (Arkansas, so your brother is SAE or KA?) :) Head to the store right next to campus and gets some fishing places tips. You could head out to where I used to live on Buffalo Creek and chill out there and catch some fish (trout I dunno, not big on fishing). Drive through GW forest and catch a few trails. Nice place.

Have to go to the sheridan livery inn for a burger, maybe catch dinner at wilson walker house. Say hi to my good friends at the ABC on the edge of town.

Figures, as soon as I start another thread someone responds to this one :)

Thanks for the help Ron, as for frats he hasn't pledged anything yet (he's a freshman and they don't rush till a little later in the year). He's actually from Louisiana, well I am actually from there to but I have been up here at school for a while.

Aww-I had lunch at the Sheriden Livery the other day, Ron!

Yeah, Carter..there is a lot to do up there if you want some outdoors stuff. You could be a little touristy and go see Natural Bridge..it's really amazing though if you haven't seen it. THere are plenty of places to fish and hike and bike. You could even come across 501 to Lynchburg (about 45 minutes) and chat with my friends at Outdoor Trails...they could give you lots of pointers, though I'm sure there is an outfitter in Lex too. Cruise up the Blue Ridge Parkway, go to Crabtree Falls (further north) or head west on 64 towards Covington (I was just there too!).

Just ask around and I'm sure you'll get lots of answers/options. That's why I live around here...lots of fun stuff to do. Virginia is great! :)
