I'm trying to find a dual-grooved pulley for my power steering pump so I can mount my alternator above the pump. My pump has a single pulley mounted on shaft affixed with a central nut; I'm under the impression that all '87 and later RRC's use a PS pump with a 3-bolt hub. Anybody have a source for the pulley I'm looking for? What about welding a second pulley onto my current pulley...too risky for a component that is always used/stressed? What about bolting a three-bolt pulley onto my current pulley (granted I can center everything accordingly)? Thanks! |

Thank you to British Pacific for finding a part number for me. Now I just have to search for a distributor overseas who has it! |

Thanks Rob! I'm moving the alt above the PS pump so that I can mount a compressor (for onboard air) above the A/C compressor. I have all of the brackets (e.g. the alt bracket above the PS pump, the bracket for the A/C pump easiliy accepts the second one above the current location). The issue was the pulleys. From what I can tell and what I've found, the "optional" pulley with the 2 grooves for the PS pump was an option for A/C systems that included a smog pump (maybe?). Oddly enough, my RRC has A/C plus a single-grooved pulley on the PS pump, so I figure the smog pump never was included on this vehicle. Oh well. Regardless, I've located the pulley and part #, the diagram fits my application, and I just need to find the cheapest price from the UK before I order it. |
