got lots of water in the headliner. it likes to gather in the rear passenger side corner and pour out of the hole for the defroster wire comes thru.

i thought maybe it was sunroof related but i am not really sure. my plan is to tear out the headliner and find the hole(s) and seal it up with some caulk.

does anywone know where i can buy a solid plastic or fiber glass headliner? this one is rotten and i
think it will crumble when i take it out. also you cant clean easly like i could if it was solid plastic or whatever. anyone done this?

i guess i should go look at hte range rover websites now ;0)

thanks
rob

Rob,
A guy did a write-up on replacing his headliner on http://www.okoffroad.com/okrovers/main.htm. It might give you some ideas. Find link upper right hand corner.

You're probably leaking from one of your sunroof drain tubes. Check there first.

i think i can salvage my headliner as everone suggested.

maybe as soon as this weekend i will remove it and tend to the issue, as the corners of my windows are growing mold from the car constantly being damp inside.

if i totally f it up i might just paint the liner and put it back in like that.. :)

thanks for the idea

Hello, I discovered something a few months ago that may help you out and maybe you never thought about it. A friend of mine had a leak similar to yours and When he brought his car over to the house, I checked his roof screws and a few were missing and many were loose. I tightened all of them around his truck, and the problem was gone. So open your doors, and look up, there are several rubber plugs which are covering the access to these Philips head screws. Just grab a wide flathead screwdriver, and a #3 phillips head driver and pop out those plugs, and tighten to your hearts content, also you may want to drop the headliner a bit to get to the ones in the front of the roofline, and in the rear of the truck. Good Luck, I'm sure a huge number of folks especially with the classics will find a number which are loose!!. Thanks for your time.

thansks for the advice. i have been busy the past few weekends and havent yet tended to this problem, hopefully i can get to it this week. i will be removing the headliner also as all the fabric is basically falling off.

will try to kill 3 or 4 birds with as many stones as needed.

I have this same problem and I am going to tackle it tomorrow morning. How do you clean the drain tubes, and do you recommend changing the gasket around the roof. Also my roof is on the blitz is there a way to manually open it?
