My next upgrade is going to be a rear bumper. I've been looking at the TJM. Any thoughts?

I think you could do better, I own one and will probably replace it with one from rovertym or kyle if he has the time to fab one up for me. If you are looking for a decent bumper to replace your stocker then go for it, if you want better protection for the rear with some quarter panel protection you might wanna wait.

If quarter panel protection means cutting away the existing panel, I'd prefer not to go that route. I'd like to check it out though but I can't find a link to the rovertym one. Someone had a pic up of the one Kyle made but I have since forgotten who that could have been.

In regards to the TJM, is there any cutting or welding required? I don't have access to that kind of equipment nor would I know what to do with it if I did.

(Dang, why did I not take Welding in HS? ohh thats right, they didn't have it. :-P)

TJM is a bolt on. and you keep the lights in the bumper too. saw one at MAR. for $500 it seems to be a reasonable deal.
i am not totally into the 1/4 protection deal. i don't get it. i mean if you are hacking the fucking thing off and then protecting......what are you now protecting? the new 1/4 protection? hmmm. i mean if you fling a rock up into the 1/4 panel and smash it.....big deal. happened to me, but at least i still have the option to fix it still.
get the TJM and be done with it. check the EE site for more info. they have some good details from the install there.

well you don't have to cut the fenders but a lot of guys do anyway, the reason you want the quarter panel protection is when you are coming off large rocks/logs/etc things tend to get caught in that gap where there is nothing but soft aluminum. The RT rear won't be released till John can clear out his backlog of bumper orders and Kyle is similarily swamped.
