Does anybody know if the hassle is worth buying the 8mm wires vs. the 7mm ones?

What hassle? I bought 8mm and had no hassles at all. But the 7mm are all you need with a stock LR/Lucas ignition.

The 8mm don't snap into the stock looms on a Disco, you have to replace the loom to get it to easily fit, or, really pinch on the wire to get it to snap in. The 7mm will work fine. I went with the nifty 8mm just because of the sexy poseur blue color. :)

Leslie,

my 8mm kinda just *rolled* into place nicely. Maybe its because my truck is older or something. The Magnacors are working great for me though.
