Found this on another site. If they brought the GWagen in as a diesel I'd have to convert.

Mercedes-Benz to reintroduce diesels to the US
E-class diesel coming

Mercedes sources confirm diesels coming back to the US

E-class diesel to be sold in 45 of 50 states...look for it as a 2004 model

Our spies also tell us an S-class and M-class diesels could also make their way here...

We predict diesels will finally take off again in the US and will exceed the sales expectations of the manufacturers, who are bold enough to make a committment, to bringing them here.

Hopefully the Volvo team is reading this article...Bring the XC90 Diesel to the US!

The reason Rover cant pull it's head out is because the equipment used for such an operation at LRNA was designed and built by Lucas. Therefore; not only does it not work correctly, it inserts the head futher into the orriface in question.

I was told that the equipment was indeed Lucas and therefore was able to insert the head but failed when it attempted to remove it. However the blame is being put on the lubricant that dripped out while the head was inserted causing a seizure.

What an image. A bunch of Lucas electrical robots sitting on an assembly line building Land Rovers. Why do I picture doors being installed upside down.

Not a hard picture to imagine at all. Afterall, what other electrical system can totally fail without notice and magically start working again and be able to trace the problem to something as crazy as an incorrect stop lamp being used? BTW, I had always heard Bosch was German for Lucas.

except the Bosch stuff never fails, and if it flinches you can open them up and clean/fix the Bosch stuff.

Lucas is and forever will be the prince of Darkness

I love the parody Lucas shirts that have the "Prince of Darkness" logo and the saying "A Gentleman Doesn't Motor About After Dark" I was going to get one for my Dad's birthday (he is into Triumphs) but I couldn't find anybody that didn't have them back-ordered.
