I believe they discontinued it. It did not make sense to install a device they did not know how to service. Plus they had problems with it. It is made by Rosen and available after market from stores that will warranty.

Radio Shack sells a nice DVD / 10.4" TFT screen combo from Go View ($499) that can travel and be strapped to the back of a seat. I bought one yesterday and its nicely built.

I believe that Alpine makes a few flip-down type screens as well as Audiovox.

I just picked up my Disco a few weeks ago, so I haven't started looking at anything yet.

I bought a portable from circuit city for $225.00.
It has a 7 inch screen and it sits on the armrest of both my wifes disco and my range rover. The bottom has rubber so it stays put. I bought a cassette tape adapter for it and play it right through the trucks stock stereo systems. It sounds great. It is primarily for backseat viewing, but you can put it on the dash also. You can bring it anywhere. You can also add additional monitors (headrest, visor) and plug a game console in it for the rugrats.

Just use a laptop and a Jotto Desk...multipurpose, large screen, and I can output it to the stereo via tape adapter.

Chandler, I can probably get you the part number, but it was only a port installed option.
John, they did NOT discontinue it. I just received one yesterday that had it installed.
I feel that the LR unit isn't as nice as what can be had aftermarket. Everyone is suggesting portable players, which serve their purpose, but it is very nice to have an in-built player. My personal favorite is 2 or 4 headrest mounted 7" monitors with a DVD player mounted under the seat. They have wireless headphones, and the DVD has memory. You can also have them hook in a game system, and then one kid can play games while the other watches a DVD. I'm not a fan of the LR system, becuase it seriously blocks rearward vision, and it has WIRED headphones. Plus, you can't exactly have 5 headphone sets plugged into the unit. If you are going aftermarket, have the LR dealer recommend a shop. There are shops that understand rovers, and shops that do not. Get a bad shop, and prepare to have your SRS harness compromised (I have seen this SEVERAL times) or have various electrical problems pop up as a result of the intstall.

Skip the DVD player and talk to your kids!
 One day,
 when they get older,
 and their friends are naked,
 in a bell tower,
 with a deer rifle,
 they will thank you.....

Me thinketh Dave has no kids or has never taken his toddelers on an 8 hour trip. God bless that purple dinosaur! If we had one of those when I was younger perhaps my siblings and I would not have beat the crap out of each other every family vacation prompting my father to threaten to pull the car over. (I don't think he ever did) But how safe is it swinging at your kids while you are driving the car?

Nothing worse than a small 2 year old waking up 20 miles from your destination after four hours on the road and annoucing that he wants to go home.....

get a cheapo 7" LCD (and mount it anywhere you want) and underseat DVD player for $200 on eBay. I have an in-dash Pioneer with DVD changer, and is a big waste of money (looks cool though)..

Vizualogic makes an OEM exact headrest swap system with 7 inch monitors .

Very nice, wires are hidden in the posts and you can put the old Headrests back on when not taking trips and such.
Latest catalog from Atlantic British has them

I have a Clarion VRX935VD indash DVD player that I purchased a couple of months ago and want to get rid of. It works perfectly and I have all the manuals and original box. If anybody's interested, let me know.

Does anyone know of a way to integrate a screen or a totally new unit to work with the navigation on the HSE. I hate not having a map and I would like to get something with XM already added so I could get rid of my Delphi unit.

 Thanks,
 Hill

Just put a flip down screen (10.4" i think) with DVD player in our suburban...And so far I love it. Its got 2 wireless head phones and a place to plug in video games. Eventually I want to add a screen in each headrest and the dash.

Also, I have an In dash 7" Pioneer screen/DVD player in my Disco and I love it.
I would reccomend either of the above systems.

If you have a FRY'S in your neighborhood, they have great deals on overhead screens. I think it's like $4-500 for a 10 inch or something. Much more cost effective for that, rather than an in-dash. My system cost well over $1K, and I have a 6.5 inch screen and a 6 DVD Changer (I never use). Cheapest way to get movies in your car is a stand-alone screen installed somewhere (customized, but easy anyways), and an under-the-seat DVD player/TV tuner. Maybe $2-300 bucks at most.

Where are you guys placing the DVD players? I have a amp under the drivers and a 6 disc under the passanger seat. I would hate to use the jocky box. Has anyone used the cubby box between the two seats? If so how does it look?
