Did a search, but didn't see anything. I'm just about to reinstall my exauhst on the green '96 disco. I didn't replace the o2 sensors whith the rest of the engine because they were working fine when I tool everything apart, but noticed they look pretty black and gummed up. Is there any way to safetly clean them without doing any damage? Didn't want to just through them in the solvent tank without checking.

Thanks,

Ry

Dont put them in the solvent tank you will definitely contaminate them. My advice would be to just leave them alone if you aren't going to replace them. If you must clean them I would use a cleaner that wont leave a residue, like electrical parts cleaner.

Great! I'll do that. I was just usin the solvent tank as an "exteme example" but wanted to check before any attempts of cleaning them in any way.

Ogden huh? do much wheelin around here? If you do, we should join up sometime bro.

Thanks,

Ry

Ry: I replaced the upstream (that was fun!) and then I went ahead and removed and cleaned the gunk off the downstream and replaced them. Since then I am running good and getting incredible MPG!!!

Thanks Melissa, good to know.

And Ryan, sounds cool. I hit jeep safari last year. Didn't get any real trail time, my rover didn't have any mods at that point and the lines for trails were horrific, but it was a good party!

Don't expose it to any silicone based products, these immediately kill O2 sensors

I still don't have any mods done to mine, but there are a lot of easier trails. As long as you don't run the same trails that are scheduled by Jeep Safari the lines aren't to bad. It does get crazy down there though
