My D1 grille keeps cracking at the screws. Is there an alternative to the OEM grille? There is a D2 grille on eBay, but I suppose they are not interchangable. |

Ken, if your grille cracking at screws that would mean few things. Either one is very nasty (frame damages, front plates misaligned and never fixed after some crash, rollover damage that never got fixed & etc). However there is very easy fix to such problem without going to pay lots of extra $ (specially without trying to find saudi grille, unless Nadim indeed will stike motherload of them somewhere). Grille itself pretty much holded by fact that its tucked into left and right panels of headlamp moldings. Those screws arent doing much. You can either just take them off, or, if you fill like doing a bit more appropriate fix - get rubber stripe, attach it to those holes, and then slice off inch or so from top of grille plastic and attach that rubber piece by some nice looking bolts (i'd say about 5 will do). Can even add aluminium stripe to make it better. That stripe will allow this excessive flex to go without damaging your grille ever again. |
