Everyone-I was driving back from Virginia to Atlanta yesterday when my 00 disco II started running bad. I had been driving about an hour and noticed the engine "stumble" or hesitate a bit going up a slight hill. It did it a couple more times so I pulled over to check things out as it felt at first that it may have been a trans/driveshaft prob. Not so. When I pulled over the service engine soon light began flashing and the engine ran very poorly, vibrating and missing I believe. The whole way back (6 more hours, I had no choice except to try and make it) It stumbled/missed on hills. It vibrated badly at idle most of the time. So, I have already had 2 valve jobs (one at 45k, another at 52, and now I have 58 on the odo), does this sound like a valve issue again? I took it to the dealer who has done all the work thus far (the first valve job was under factory warranty, the second was covered by the 1 year parts/labor warranty from the first valve job, and if it is a valve issue again it will be covered) and I am waiting to hear back. I just want to make sure I go into this situation knowing what the possibilities are. Please share your similar experiences if you can. Thanks Chris |

Sounds like a rocker arm(shaft?) problem to me. Could have been disturbed at last valve job. |

Betcha got a few codes on the engine. Given how suddenly these problems arose, I'm wondering if on of the coils went bad. |

I just got a call from the dealership, it appears the 6 ignition wire went bad and burned up. Damn repair for one wire costs me $200+. I should have looked at it more before I took it in but I needed it fixed quick. I hope that is all that is wrong. |
