Is there a way to turn off the ABS light without a testbook? I have 2 dead sensors, and just don't want to look at the light.

electrical tape just infront of the light always works to hide unwanted lights :-)
though you should really get those checked out or fixed as they are part of your braking mech and it's abit important to be able to stop
take care

www.spanishtrailrovers.com has a great article on how to diagnose your braking system as does www.roversnorth.com
i can tell you this. i was quoted by a rover garage that it would be around 4000.00 to fix the abs system on the rover. after rading the tech section on these sites i obtained the codes and fixed the abs light my self. one sensor was pushed out causing the problem. a far cry from a 4000.00 dollar bill.
it is a very simple proceedure. as prior to this knew nothing on this system. good luck with it

Actually, I have the codes. My local rover dealer did the diagnostics for $20. I have the ABS pump disabled (fuse) so that there are no accidents - just don't want the light in my face.

I was tired of looking at that light also. Pull the binnacle off (2 screws and a few multi-plugs) and yank the bulb.

It's a 1.75 beer job (finished in less than two beers).

Jim, can you give more detailed instructions on how to do this. I need to do the same with mine.

Thanks, Richard

Put steering wheel in lowest position. Right dead center of the steering wheel base there are two phillips head screw. Remove. There are connectors on the left and right. Make sure you right down what color goes back where.
unscrew the back cover and remove the correct light bulb.
