I have been at this for approx: 6 months and need some advice . I have done the following things :
1.)Replaced vaccum lines
2.)Replaces Cruise Control ECU
3.)Replaced Cruise neutral lockout relay
4.)Checked vacuum pump and works fine.

Im getting power to the ecu but no power coming out. Cleaned the grounds involving the cruise system.(I have the Land Rover tech repair on CD).
When I push the dash switch to activate the cruise I hear a click from the cruise neutral relay. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Is it possiible that the park neutral safety switch is bad? I have read that this switch grounds the cruise lockout relays coil. Any help or comments are welcome.

Have you checked to see if the brake light switch is good. It can malfunction causing the cruise to not work. Usually, if this switch is bad your rear tail lights will stay on even when the brakes are not applied.

You probably did, but did you check the cruise fuse? You might want to double check the vacuum lines too. I went through all the electrical stuff when my cruise went out - and then figured out it was a .99 cent piece of vacuum hose leaking even though I had checked the vacuum in the beginning.

D1 or D2?

Somehow the brake light switch on my D2 became maladjusted, causing the brake lights to remain on & the cruise to cancel. Try pulling the plunger out & reinstall. Took 15min & cost nothing.

Double check all the things that affect cruise control operation:
brake switch
PRNDL switch
make sure that all the criteria for cruise control operation are met (over 35 mph, etc.)
Remember cruise control is considered a luxury like air conditioning so if anything else that could affect cruise control is malfunctioning it shuts the cruise control off first. Also, just because the relay clicks, doesnt mean its good.

Thanks all. I have replaced and double checked the brake switch and the brake vent valve switch,fuses,hose,relays,etc... This problem is definately electrical . When it first started my cruise would work for approx: 5 minutes then I could hear snapping like electrical shorting going on under the passenger side dash. Now it never works. That prompted me to change relay and ecu. I have taken it to two dealers and the last said it was the ecu . Put 2 known good ecu's in to test and still no good. Does anyone else have the RAVE LR manual on CD that could possibly think of something that I haven't? I am still considering the park/neutral safety switch. Anyone brave enough to step into the ring and give their 2cents.
Thanks,
Bob

bad ground? Maybe one of the ground wires has continuity under no load (like when using an ohmmeter), but when a load is placed on it it can't carry the current with the amount of contact it has.

Check the vehicle speed signal into the control module. If everything else is ok, that might be your problem.
