I had narrowed my choice of tires to the Goodyear MT/R and the Dunlop Mud Rovers. If you are wanting good at tires cheap and can live with 245/75/16s... I recently bought a set of used GY MTRs in this size with 500 mi for less than $100 a tire including shipping. I have no experience with the MTRs, but many think they are great. It appears that this size is used on the Jeep Rubicons and many Rubicon owners are looking to upgrade to a larger tire and these can be had fairly reasonable if you dont mind slightly used tires. I got a set of 5 for $475 and Local shop quoted me $100 to mount and balance. Cheapest quote I got to buy em new and installation was around $900. Tirerick.com had them for approx $130ea not including shipping and installation. The local Jeep dealership or wheel/tire store would be excellent places to look or leave you number with if some should turn up. Only problem is the warranty stuff, im not sure if is still valid. Ive also seen them go fairly cheap on ebay. |
