A long time ago where was a post about front grill for a Disco. I cant remember what the link was for the grill and cant seem to find the post. It was a aftermarket grill and looked really neat. Just wondering if anyone might know the link. It gave the disco a cool look. Got rid of the straight across bars and had kinda flat look.
Anyhow
Thanks
Sean

Yeah i did the search. Found the grill. The saudi grill is nice for sure. Was there a grill where the corners were more rounded on the inside? Maybe i am crackingup but that one doesnt seem to be the one that i remember. It was along time ago though. Is there other aftermarket grills?
Thanks again
Sean

Maybe you mean this one:

I think there's is based on a standard grille with the mesh bonded on.

Good luck with finding one cheaper than couple hundred bucks :-)

If you really want functionality of it though (i.e increased airflow), its very easy mod, that will cost you about 30 mins of your time and less then 12 bucks. And ritual sacrifice of your current grill :-)

Is it as simple as cutting out the old grill cross pieces and screwing in a screen from Home Depot or somewhere?

Well i havent got around to check home depot, but yeah, basically:
- 8 bolts + nuts + washers (i used 6mm bolts that i had laying about. Length was about 1-1.4cm)
- 3'x1' mesh. I got mine in ACE Hardware in section where they selling stuff to make cages for pets. Huge roll is like 10$. Size of mesh is defined by own preferences, i got about 1x1cm one.

Reason to get 3x1 is b/c you will then have some slack to be cut out :-)

Get old grill out (3 screws on the top and some cursing), flip it so you facing "internal" side. Grab dremmel or heat knife. Cut away central portion of old grille. Put in mesh, you will most likely have to cut away about 1-2" from few places to get it lay down nice and tight.

Then 8 bolts - 4 on the top (do corner ones first, so you got mesh stretched), 2 on those molded things at the bottom, and then 2 at the lower corners (so mesh wont rattle and will hold against debris that flying into it). Bolt's heads are on the "outside", spacers are to secure mesh on inside.

Paint whole thing, or dont. Depending on what you feel like. I used satin black finish.

If you feels like it - get badge off the piece that got cut away, and glue it somewhere on the new cool grill :-)

Install damn thing back, and then you can call your wife and proudly tell how you saved all those money and now you can spend them to do {insert name of mod here} for your Rover :-)
