I'm planning on removing my front air dam, trimming the bumper caps and mounting a skid plate but I can't figure out where to mount front recovery points. Anyone have any ideas? I'd like to do JATE rings, but I don't think the the plenenum will allow it. Thanks. |

Get under the truck and look at where the steering box is mounted. On the opposite side of the frame is a similar mounting point. This is where you can mount your JATE ring. |

JATE is expensive. I have a way that has worked so far for less than $20.00. I will post photos tomorrow if you want me to show you. |

R.B. - Thanks a lot, I would appreciate your help. And Jaime, I looked into that idea but I wanted to put two rings and if the truck is being pulled uphill, not rip off the bumper. Sometimes I think Land rover only intended to have their vehicles pulled backwards out of mud. Thanks guys. |

Orville, I have a 98 Disco with air dam removed, end caps trimmed and an AB skid plate. I've mounted my JATE ring to the mounting location that Jaime pointed out. Haven't had any issues with it there. Also, EE sells a wider JATE ring too that can possibly fit further up where the bumper mounts to the frame. It should be wide enough to accomodate the skid plate bracket too. Not sure if you can accomodate both skid plate bracket and brush guard though which is what I have. I haven't measured yet but if it does, then I'll probably switch to that location and mount rings on both sides and use a bridle setup for front recovery. |
