My neighbors son backed into the front bumper (driver side) of my DiscoveryII. Now the rear edge of the bumper is about 3/4" to 1 closer to the front tire. Is this real damage or can I take the bumper off and just move it back into position? Thanks! Andrew

If you can find a good spot to pull from - put a strap on her and tug! You may have to remove any skirt kit/plastics so they don't break but pulling a bumper back out is pretty straight forward.. you might even find a bottle jack (or some other) to come in handy.. Are there any kinks or creases in the bumper? |

No kinks or creases in the bumper. It is the stock LR bumper. I'll have to take it off and inspect. Thanks |

REAL Damage!! ACE went out on me on the freeway today. I lost all hydraulic fluid in the ACE system. bumper must have been pushed back so far to rub on an ACE line...??? could this happen? |

I think D2 bumpers are abs plastic so you might not be able to bend it back. My friend's GMC Sierra had its bumper bent exactly how you describe and he bent it back by putting a block of wood between the tire and the bumper and turning the wheel. Might not be the best thing for the steering components, but he needed an alignment anyway. Although I don't know if this will work on a D2 bumper, becuase the GMC bumper was metal. IMHO - just trim the bumper if it is a pre-2003 D2. The 03-04 bumpers look fine, but I hate the look of the earlier ones. They hang down lower than the rest of the vehicle (not a nice looking line) and beg to be hit by rocks. Although if you have ACE I guess you have the 18" wheels, so that may not look that great. Also, you would be exposing the monster-looking tread of those wrangler HPs! ;) |

I tried to look but didn't know what I was looking at. Dealer said that a washer in the ACE pump failed and caused the loss of fluid.
