Hey all,

Anyone have experience with Nitto tires? Looks like they have a 255/55/18 Terra Grapler http://www.nittotire.com/tires_terragrappler.asp that is a somewhat aggresive offroad tire. My Goodyears are making more noise than a blender and every pair I've had seem to cut or cup no matter how often I rotate.

Cheers,
Dan

I havn't heard anything bad about them. I was considering their 285/60/18's for a while but when with 285/65/18 BFG AT's instead.

No experience with Nitto, but cupping will happen with any brand & is usually due to worn shocks.

Rick, how do those BFG's work for you on the 18s? What kinda suspension lift do you have?

Paul, I sure hope it's not worn shocks as I replaced them last year with new stock ones.

Thanks.

Rick, I'm also curious about the 285/65R18 BFG's. I was thinking of getting them, even had them ordered, but went with a set of 16" rims and BFG MT's instead. I thought the 18" AT's would be too big.

I put on new MTR's along with new OME springs and Bilstein shocks. I have about 5k on the tires and they are cupping already. I believe in my case it is because much of the city driving I do is stop and go which may cause the cupping due to a lot of braking.

I think I will be going back to BFG's after this set, I never had that problem with them.

I have an RTE 3" lift. The BFG AT'a are awesome. their big (33x11.5) but they're worth it.

Did you have to do any cutting? How about rubbing when you turn? I'm considering getting them when my stock wrangler HP's die and use the AT's as my daily driver set. There just aren't alot of options for the 18" rim.

I've also thought about the Nitto Terra Grapplers. I've got some time before I need new daily driver tires though.

I use them as my daily driver. There was a little rubbing on the raius arms. I adjusted the steering stops and barely notice a difference in turnign radius. They make curbs and trees feel like pebbles.

sweet. How do you think they'd fit with the 2" OME lift, or would I need to go to 3"?

Looks like you gotta go with the BFG's. Oh well.
There may look a little stuffed with a 2" lift and might have some minor rubbing, if any, but youll never know until you try it.

heres a pic

My buddy runs Nitto's on his lifted F350, they've got about 20,000 on them adn still have plenty of wear left in them, adn they are pretty killer for off road and looks too.
