My 96 disco has a bizarre problem when it rains and the temperature is 40 or below the drivers side door handle just wont open.its been that way for quite a while and I have to climb over the pass seat to get in it locks and unlocks just fine any ideas on what to look for? |

Latch...There is helper spring for the actuator in the latch that goes bad and sticks |

95D1 was doing the same thing only at lower temps. No problem with higher temps. My fix was to pull on the handle and while holding the handle out push the door in with the other hand or a quick smack above the handle does it to. |

Now I can get into this topic. My 96 does the same in the AMs, but after noon she's fine (a warm metal growth thing?). Started with the passenger door, now the driver door too. The loco garage here says the door latch needs adjusting. There are great directions with photos on the dWeb site for doing just that (which I plan to follow when I get the time and energy). Funny, standing forward of the handle and pulling opens the door more often than standing directly outward of the handle and pulling. OR...pulling hard and fast works too!! SandMan |
