Hello everybody, I'm wondering if the non-airbag D1 ARB winch bumper will fit to an airbag equipped D1. I don't care if the airbags will work or not, I will uninstall them if I have to. Thank you... |

U have to unistall the sensors of the airbag, or else with a little crush the shock that the bumper will receive they will blow to your face ;) Petros

That's exactly the reason I would uninstall them anyway.I've been told that an easy-to-use ON/OFF switch for the airbags is not a good idea, just like the one for the ABS. Nothing else in the way down there then? |

"Nothing else in the way down there then?" No, there's nothing in the way. They fit quite nicely. The non-airbag ARB doesn't have the crumple zone built into it like the airbag version does. This means the airbags can be set-off easier with less impact. The fit is the same - just deactivate the sensors. |

That's good news, I would have to hang it on my wall as a decorative item(!).. Thanx David, Thanx Petros... |

I've got a non-airbag on my '97 and it hasn't given me any issues. Its knocked down its share of trees from low speeds, so I guess minor impacts won't do it any harm. David |

I have a non-airbag on my '97 as well. Where are the airbag sensors, and how are they activated? Is it like the inertia switch, or do they actually have to be pressed in like a button? |

pretty sure it's a trigger (button type) mechanism. however, I am also pretty sure the bumper is not designed for you to be destroying trees either |
