I am in the process of installing a Jotto Desk, i searched for help on this but did not find any definative answers to my question of to use the self tapping screws provided or to bolt all they way through. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nick

Those tap screws are shit; throw them away and get you some stainless steel bolts and washers and nylon lock nuts. And use all the holes.

You'll also need to cut a nice 3/16" (preferably) piece of aluminum and install it on the back side of the flooring (tunnel). This piece will be much larger than the base of the JottoDesk to spread the load out over a larger area. Make sure you bolt the outermost corners of the aluminum (under the carpet). You'll drill through the car's flooring (tunnel) and through the aluminum and bolt it all together like a sandwich.

You'll neeed to cut this piece into a fancy shape to fit in there, but you'll be happy you did. Otherwise it will giggle and shake and thoroughly piss you off. (Voice of experience)

Also, make sure you seal all of the holes, and be careful not to get any sealant on your carpet.

I just got back from Moab (literally like 3 hours ago). The desk and computer were in the car the entire time and performed flawlessly because I installed mine the way I did.

If you want to see some of the hell it when through, check out this link:
