Does anyone have an inclination meter? How much and where to get? Also can anyone tell me at what angle the disco 1 will roll?

Thanks

James-

If you look at Atlantic British and some of the other vendors in the resources section you'll find some other people who sell the same thing. Not exactly sure what angle it'll roll, somewhere around 29 or 30, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It'll roll when it rolls is the only way to describe it.

How many people are in the Disco? What side are they sitting on? How much on the roof rack? Do you have a lift, or stock. What is the terrain? How wide are your tires? Are they aired down? Is Mars in line with Jupiter and is the moon full?

Does that answer your question?

If a tractor is needed to pull a pin from you a$$, then your getting pretty close to rolling it. At least thats my way of tellin.
I also have a levogauge and wouldnt want to see it past 25, but ive heard stock d2s can do 35-40

30 is conservative. I have had mine to around 40 and no rolling. I had a salesperson at the dealer track tell me the side hill was 43 degrees. I don't know how accurate this was.

Try ebay. There are lots of different types there.

I had all sorts of inclinometers, the best ones are biological:

1. Yellow means you're about to roll (more than 40% damage)
2. Brown means you've rolled, and there's more to come (80+% damage)

:-)

Your Disco will take way more side slope then you can, IMHO. a good inclinometer can help you see where you are quantitatively, but the qualitative butt pucker factor measurement system is pretty reliable...

30 degrees is pretty low, it will go more than that.

Most likely she'll go to 90 and stop.
If you are very good, you can get it to 180.
REALLY good guys can go 360 or more!

Nadim - I like the biological inclination meter. HA HA Sometimes I use my dogs...if they have their big paws on the windows, that's enough for me!

I can imagine the scratching/barking/screaming...
:-)
I was actually a witness to a "Yellow" type...will not be detailed, but he went before his GF did and she was on the "crush" side :-)

sometimes the lay of the land will play tricks with my mind. especially with a cliff off of the driver side and when i am leaning toward it. After about 15deg of lean i am sure i am going to roll. this is when i find it helpful to have a levogage or something like it, just to reassure me that it's all in my head.

i've had my disco at ~40deg with big ass tires lift and junk on the rack, i was fully puckered but she drove out of it.

an alternative to the standard lev-o-gage is http://www.tiltmeter.com/

Thanks for all the input. I will pick up an inclinometer and just try to keep it at 30 or less. The main reason I ask is that I to have heard that your own sense of safety will kick in well ahead of the point in which the vehicle will roll. My problem is that since I am aware of this factor I tend to soil my pants and just keep on going. One of these days my luck will run out and I will have a fuc__d vehicle and another pair of gitch tossed in the bushes to go with it. $10 to $30 is a small price to pay for the reassurance that I won't roll... yet. I will probably make that back in a month or two by saving on the amount of underwear I have to purchase.

Oh, and Big Eddy, you forgot to mention if my gas tank was full or half empty. When someone asks a question I assume they are talking stock unless they offer more. How the hell could I expect an intelligent answer based on every freakin factor that would enter into that equation? Just answer for stock and I will add and subtract degress based on all the other factors. If you don't have anything of value to add then please don't say anything. I can read the real answers more quickly that way.

Everyone else thanks again.

James,
I assume nothing...thus I have never rolled or soiled my pants. Try and ask complete questions, you'll get better answers.
For instance, in 6 inches of sand in a stock Disco you can tilt farther than the same stock Disco on hard ground.

Oh and James, if you want to know the stock tilt angle, it's in your owners manual.

Regarding the side hill at the dealer track, I got the same numbers (43 degrees) from LR Austin that Greg French got from his dealer.
