Why would someone need a different temp thermostat over the next person?

I've not had a thermostat in for the past 40k miles.. so a few degrees difference won't make all that much difference, just whatever you want to do:-)

The fuel map is dependant on engine temp.If the engine doesn't reach the temp that is specified for the map for that market the ecu will think it's cold and richen the mixture you should never run them without the correct unit for your market. Not having one at all can cause high fuel useage and idle speed issues.
