Haven't been driving the Rovers recently, as I blew out my left knee skiing in Montana - and all my vehicles have clutches.

Anyway, I get in and start up this morning, and the PS pump is sounding funny, for a few minutes, then it quiets down. Of course the wife can't say when/where/how long this has been happening, as most women don't pay attention to a vehicle unless it doesn't work at all.

Anyway, with about 115,000 miles on the clock, I'm wondering if it's in death throes - how long 'til it goes tits up?

Cheers

Sandy,

Could be the pump going bad or lots of air and the box needs "a bleedin" I am sure a bunch of guys will chime in on this one and say what a joy bleeding the box is.

Did you check the ps fluid recently or top it off because it was to low??

For a week or so, my ps pump sounded a little angry then would quiet down, then it suddenly lost it's shit and sounded like a wailing banshee when it finally gave up the fight. I apologize for using such highly-technical terms.
