my dads treck has some metal mesh tack welded onto the roofrack. We didn't do it, but it will have been cheap and easy, even cheaper if you can weld it yourself.

Cheers

It's been talked about before on this sight, a while back. It's very nice stuff, but very expensive too.

Like Jack said, there's more affordable/cheaper options.

Also you would hate it on speeds higher than 30m/h, if you keep it on daily basis. Unless you fancy to have flying Disco of course. Then you can get bigger wings :-)

Jeremy-
I have a Safety Devices rack like the ones they used in the Camel Trophy and it came mounted with the standard 2 sheets of marine plywood. I can attest to Sergei's remarks. I drove on the highway once with it before I took them off the rack, the boards create a ton of noise (not like that doesn't already happen in a Disco) and also seriously limited top speed and acceleration. I do plan to mount them back though when I need to use the rack, it just isn't that practical for everyday use.

David
