Jeez I hope so, the HP's that came on this thing are wobbling and shimmying me all over the road.

Is cupping an issue with all tires on a D2 or are the GY's just notoriously crappy?

Thanks-
Jeff

They are nice tires, but I would not get them due to their ridiculous price. If you are wanting to get some nice road tires in the stock size get some Continental 4x4 Contacts. They are premium tires but still undercut the Michelins by $35 a tire. Personally, I would get some Michelin LTX MS in your case. They are nice tires and are a little tougher than these newer all road car based SUV tires.

jeff, quarrystones are better than the HP's. GY have and will always be the lowest form of the beast. I trashed the cupped, wobbly, noisy HP's on our D2 for Michelin Crossterrain, mostly a highway tire but thats mostly what i do. very quiet, smooth and so far wearing very nicely, thank you.

Quarrystones! LOL. I love it.

Yeah, the HP's are a disappointment to put it mildy. Hoping the beast will run like a different truck with these tires. Friend is letting me have his, so I'm not buying them. They have about 10k on them, we are trading rims out. I'm going the 18 route, I know I know mallcrawl, but hey, I like them.

I don't really offroad hardcore, but I do encounter deep snow and unpaved roads when I head to Western NC. I've heard that Nokian snow tires for the 18's kick tail, though expensive.

You say you are getting them and then ask for opinion. Does it really matter then? Get BFG if you want a good tire.

Just wanted to see if I could anticipate a better ride than the HP's, that's all.

Maybe I just happened to get a good set. I've had no issues with the stock HP's. Granted they are horrible offroad, which is why I have a set of BFG MT's as well.
