I've got a gutter mount rack that came with the truck and a Surco basket on top. I've never really cared for it too much even though the basket is handy at times. The prob is, it's so high my wife can't get it in the parking garage at her work. I thought maybe by getting the rail extensions and something like the Thule rapid rail racks I could mount the basket and it might sit an inch or two lower. I'm assuming drilling would be required, but jeez $250 from AB seems stiff. Anyone with experiences? Thanks again- Jeff |

I have the extensions on mine, very easy to fit and full templates and alignment gadget for the 22m hole you need to cut are provided. Took me 1 hour to fit and that included dropping the trim Land Rover charge about $100 for the genuine extension bars so as usual AB is overcharging The other advantage of the extension bars is that if you squeeze under a low branch it doesn't come wham down on the glass part of the roof |
