Help. 96 disco. sounds like fuel prob.

Author Message   Josh (Jslow) New Member Username: Jslow Post Number: 8 Registered: 02-2004 Posted on Saturday, April 10, 2004 - 06:11 pm:    i pulled into a parking space like normal and as soon as i parked the car cut off. it sat for about 2 hours. i cranked it, it ran for a sec and cut off. i checked the valve at the manifold(i depressed the thing in the middle and tried to crank and no fuel came out). fuel pump maybe? oh, in the past about every 10th crank when hot the car ran very rough, then ran ok. may be related? thanks   Joey (Joey4420) Senior Member Username: Joey4420 Post Number: 749 Registered: 04-2003 Posted on Saturday, April 10, 2004 - 06:29 pm:    Sounds like fuel pump going bad, but I would not rule out the fuel filter. Kind of fun to change if it has been on there a long time. Haynes manual, should be able to order from must Aftermarket LR retailers. I don't own one yet, but I will get one, one of these days. Your can check the fuel pump by turning the key to the run position and have someone listen to the floor in the cargo area. They should be able to hear the pump run. If not, I would start there.
