Threat of old age. Faded paint, saggy headliner, clunks in diffs, etc.

I'd love to have both and turn 95 into a dedicated off roader but really can't afford it.

May want to sit down and pencil out the diff in price between going 00 and upgrading/fixing the 95. If the diffs clunks which they all do I'm told, or are worn may be just the excuse you need to upgrade with new gears and lockers. When I bought my 95 it's paint was faded and water spotted bad. borrowed a friends buffer and compound and went to work. Looks like new now with just a few hours of hard work. Just a thought. I intentionally bought older to fix up because I knew I wouldn't take a newer one off road where I would an older one. besides most people can't tell what year is what until the newer ones. Good luck.

Cheers Andy

Before you do your math, decide wether or not you are going to use it offroad. If it is only for the road, disco II's are great. If you do want an offroad vehicle, I would consider sticking to a DI. DII's are very capable, but most prefer the DI for offroad applications.

If money doesn't matter, upgrade. If money matters don't. Pretty much an easy decision.

If you are also going to finance the 00, then a couple month payments will replace with brand new diffs and give you a paint touch up. But don't do that wait till something is really wrong. Clunks are pretty standard and may also exist in the 00.
