All right, I had an alternator problem and lost all power at night. At first, I did not know what the problem was... so I got it jumped started, thought about a battery problem, parked it and left it running in front of the friend's house, had dinner. When I came back... the engine had died. Well, got it jumped again, the SRS light came on. (I finally ended up going home with the AAA truck!)

Now, the alternator has been fixed. It charges the battery just fine! :-) But the SRS light is still on! :-(

While, I would not bet that there is nothing wrond with the SRS system, I think that the no-powered problem caused it to come off (I read somewhere else that if you reconnect your battery while the key is position II [or whatever] this will cause the SRS light to come off => very likely that this is what happened). So, before giving my dealership some money, I would like to try to reset the light! On a 1995 D1, it looks like you can just unplug the battery for one hour and everything should be fine (or find the passenger side behind the kick panel switch and use a pin to reset it). How about on my 1996 D1 (yellow SRS wiring)? My OBD-II tool does not report anything. I know that the truck had the battery disconnected for more than one hour previously.

Any hint?

Thanks,
Loic.

Will stay on until reset. The SRS light comes on when the battery gets below certain levels because of not enough juice to power it. The dealer can reset it..
