i was replacing my exhaust gaskets today and while i was under the truck with a light i noticed an open bolt hole on the front lower face of the engine. and next to it a loose bracket. on closer inspection i found that the bracket was pushing against a sensor.

i do not know what this sensor is or what the bracket is. so i have created some visual aids in hope that someone here can help me identify. 1: what is the sensor. 2: what is the bracket. and 3: is this a bad situaution?

also one last detail. the bracket is exerting a pretty decent amount of force against the sensor connector. so much so im afraid if it's not rectified that the sensor will eventually break.

here's the link. (sorry for the large file size of the images)

thanks in advance for your time.

the bracket holds the tensioner pulley in place the sensor is the oil pressure sensor.

I would say you better hurry up and replace the bolt. I little lock-tite on the bolt wouldent be a bad idea .

on a closer inspectionthis AM, i do not think that the bracket attachs to the tensioner pulley, it seems more like it is a positioning bracket that is attached to one of the hoses. becuase when i push on the hoses, the bracket moves in tandem. i could be wrong though.

anyone else got any other ideas?
