OBDII code P0174 says I have a lean condition in bank 2. What exactly does this mean? What side of the engine is bank 2 on the passenger or drivers side? Does this mean I have clogged fuel ines or bad injectors? What about a faulty oxygen sensors could this result in a lean condition?

Despite the service engine light being on and the above code it seems to be running fine without any hesitation or misfiring.

Same code on our D2, I replaced the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) and problem was solved. no more code. Other than our check engine light, nothing seemed unusual in the way it was running, etc. Picked it up from Nathan at www.discountbritishparts.com and had it in a couple of days.

And FWIW, our '99 D2 had about 75k on it when it started throwing that code..

Sounds like a common problem on early D2's. What exactly is failing on the MAF? How much to they cost to replace? Can a MAF that is malfunctioning cause the fuel mixture to be off and result in pinging?

Around $130 shipped to my door in record time.. Matt, you must have done something to those guys at KnoxLR b/c of that driveshaft incident.. that's a bargain.

If you guys are having continual problems with the same part, start looking at the wiring harness. Or the wiring near the connector of the offending part.
A guy with an XD, who has had continual problems, took it to a dealer with the Test Book diagnostic system. Turns out the wiring harness was the problem. Found out by wiggling the harness while the engine was running...it stopped.

Hahaha..........Robert actually Ernie(parts manager) is a really great guy. We chat about various things whenever I go in there. He often just gives me little extra parts I need. I always haggle a little with him, as he knows I know I can get my parts elsewhere for cheaper. Come to think of it.....I try and haggle on everything! BTW, going into LRK today to get my free tcase put in even though I am at 61k miles.
