I have the opportunity to buy a TJM T13 front bumper still new in the box for cheap so I was looking into it. As of now I do not have anything in the front of my truck and it is a sore spot given the fact that my rear bumper was replaced with a TJM and I have a roof rack so my front is in serious need of attention not to mention the fact that I could really use a winch. Anyway I have not seen the T13 front bumper in person just the boxes of them but I do have a TJM brochure that has a picture of it. It looks real similar to older ARB bumpers for the Disco I. It states that it is a Air bag bar and the only bullet point about the bumper states "optional winch fitment." My questions are: 1. Which winchs fit in this bumper? This bumper is soo old that EE does not sell them anymore but they do sell the T13 bumper for Chevy trucks. For those trucks the T13 fits the "Mile Marker 70-50080C and 75-50085C, Warn XD9000, Superwinch X-9 and Ramsey REP9000 winches." I am not sure if the same winches fit in the T13 for the LR Disco I though. 2. If a winch can be fitted into the T13 what will it take effort and money-wise? Thanks for all the help. Robb, I'm assuming you're getting the front bumper from the same place you got the rear. I looked at that one when I got my t15. I'm still wanting to get a rear bumper from him. It sounds like the t13 accepts the same winches also. With the TJM's, the winches are low mounts so you do need to limit it to the 9000 lb winches without the built in solenoid packs. If the winches are any larger than the 9000 lb ones, the drums get too large to fit without modification. | ||

the t13 looks suspiciously like the arb, almost identical. do they make a winch version? | ||

I have seen the TJM front and prefer the ARB non-airbag winch bumper. The aproach angle is better than the airbag compatible ARB and it looks like the picture posted for the TJM. The TJM that i have seen had the winch mounted low like the ARB airbag compatible. Just my oppinion. Rico | ||

Thanks for the opinions but I was looking for answers on whether or not a winch fits on this bumper and if so which winches fit on it. Another question is would the fairlead be where the TJM plate is or would it be lower? I am thinking that if it is where the plate is then the winch would not be any lower than the bumper itself. If I were going for my favorite bumper then I would get the Rovertym bumper but because this TJM bumper is still in the box (quite a few of them actually) and it is low in price I was thinking I could afford this one right now whereas a Rovertym will not be affordable for a year or so. Ronnie, I talked to David at PTC Factory Outlet, Hella factory outlet that also sell TJMs, and he said that a low mount 9000lb Warn or Ramsey would fit on it. He said the knob had to be on the driver's side. I was looking at the Milmarker 9000lb winch and the knob is on the left (passenger's side). Thinking about your T15 do you think there would need to be modification done to fit the Milemarker winch? Robb |
